The Weyburn Police Service received 75 calls for service during the week of November 22 to 28, resulting in a total of eight charges. Of the charges, five were laid under the Criminal Code of Canada, two under the Traffic Safety Act, and one under the Cannabis Control Act. Three of the criminal code charges regarded individuals who either failed to comply with a condition of their release or appear in court as required.
On Sunday evening, officers responded to a reported garage fire and arrived to find it fully engulfed in flames. The Weyburn Fire Department attended and extinguished the fire but the investigation is ongoing as the fire is deemed to be suspicious.
The Weyburn Police received a request to locate an individual believed to be traveling through Weyburn that had expressed self-harm. Officers on patrol were able to locate the adult female and transport her to the Weyburn General Hospital to receive medical assistance.
A few incidents of vandalism to property occurred during the week, including a retirement home that suffered a broken window from an object 小蓝视频 thrown at it. A resident also reported a window was broken on their garage and access was gained.
The Weyburn Police Service assisted the RCMP with executing a search warrant on a local residence resulting in several firearms as well as other items 小蓝视频 seized. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
A two-vehicle collision at a downtown intersection resulted in one driver 小蓝视频 charged under the Traffic Safety Act for proceeding from a stop sign before safe to do so. The collision resulted in both vehicles 小蓝视频 damaged but no injuries.
Officers conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle 小蓝视频 driven at night without any headlights on resulted in the driver 小蓝视频 charged for refusing a demand made by a police officer and failing to comply with a condition of their release under the Criminal Code of Canada, as well as possessing cannabis in a vehicle under the Cannabis Control Act.
Police also responded to a variety of other calls including alarms, domestic disputes, suspicious persons, noise complaints, and mental health or well小蓝视频 concerns.
