Weyburn Legion to hold Oktoberfest fundraiser on Saturday

The Weyburn branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be holding their annual Oktoberfest fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 6 p.m. to midnight.

WEYBURN – The Weyburn branch of the Royal Canadian Legion will be holding their annual Oktoberfest fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 6 p.m. to midnight.

The advance ticket fee of $15, available at the Legion Lounge, gets you in for all entertainment, including the comedy of Ryan Skjerdal and the music of local bands Last Train West and Switch. The tickets will be $20 at the door.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. so people can grab a bite to eat and look at all the amazing silent auction items that have been donated by this generous community. Jessica Jack will be hosting the event.

If you are considering coming as a group of eight or more, let the Legion know when you are purchasing the tickets and they will make sure there is a table reserved in your name.

There will be a prize draw made for those who come in costume.

The business community continues to amaze organizers with their generous silent auction donations. If anyone has any donations to be picked up, contact the Legion office and they will be picked up.

There will also be 50/50 tickets on sale. The Legion has sold enough tickets as of Tuesday that the winner will receive $6,600, and the total continues to climb.

The pot will continue to grow by $10 with every ticket sold up to a maximum of $10,000. The draw will be made at 10 p.m. during Oktoberfest. You do not have to be in attendance to win.

You can purchase tickets in person, via e-transfer and by credit card. The Legion just needs your name and phone number when purchasing tickets. Call the office for e-transfer information or call in to the lounge at 306-2834 for over the phone credit card purchases.
