SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN - A severe thunderstorm watch for southern Saskatchewan has come to an end.

The watch was issued just before 5 p.m. Wednesday. It stated that a trough of low-pressure currently over southern Saskatchewan might produce a line of thunderstorms, some of which could become severe.

Also, according to Environment Canada, thunderstorms in Montana and North Dakota would move into southeast Saskatchewan and southwest Manitoba overnight.

The advisory included Regina, Moose Jaw, Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle, Redvers, Oxbow, Carnduff, Kipling, Moosomin, Whitewood and other communities.

Several severe thunderstorm warnings were issued Wednesday night, including one in Estevan. There was also a power outage in Estevan that, according to SaskPower, lasted for a couple of hours.

The special air quality statement for southern Saskatchewan has also been lifted.
