The Government of Saskatchewan announced a program on Dec. 5 designed to improve the petroleum industry’s long-term operating environment, sustain jobs, and increase investment activity in the province.

Estevan city council gave first reading to a pair of bylaws at its meeting on Monday night. The first is the solid waste utility rate bylaw, which governs the rates at the city’s landfill.

Starting March 15, 2019, drivers seeking a Class 1 commercial licence in Saskatchewan to drive semi trucks will be required to undergo a minimum of 121 1/2 hours of training. The change was announced Monday by the Government of Saskatchewan.
