WEYBURN - The Weyburn Concert Series is launching its new 2021-22 season, after the previous entire season had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Season ticket sales have now opened for the new season of musical performers on the Cugnet Centre stage, with the first act slated for Monday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
The Doc Walker Acoustic Show will lead off the schedule, as a country band that has had over 20 top 10 singles over the past two decades.
Nationally-known singing star Chantal Kreviazuk will bring her Christmas tour to the Cugnet Centre on Monday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m., featuring songs from her first Christmas album, “Christmas is a Way of Life, My Dear”.
A tribute to Neil Diamond will be the first act of the new year, as “Nearly Neil and the Solitary Band” will play on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, at 7:30 p.m. Vocalist Bobby Bruce will focus on Neil Diamond’s catalogue of hit songs.
The Bromantics will headline the stage on Tuesday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m. This Saskatchewan-based six-member group will perform a tribute to the music of the 1950s, along with their own original songs in the 50s style.
Blue Moon Marquee will perform on Tuesday, March 15, at 7:30 p.m., featuring the jazz music of A.W. Cardinal and Jasmine Colette will perform original compositions influenced by early blues, swing, jazz and ragtime.
The final act for the season will be Terry Barber, who will perform the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber. This music is from many popular stage musicals, such as Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sunset Boulevard and Evita, among others.
Season tickets are available at the Weyburn Review office, Old Fashion Foods or any Concert Series board members.
Season tickets for adults are $110, and $40 for students and children. Advance tickets for individual concerts are $35 for adults and $15 for students and children, and tickets at the door are $40 for adults, and $20 for students and children.
Tickets for individual concerts will be available one month prior to the scheduled concert. Ticket sales will be limited to allow for social distancing at the venue.
Proof of COVID vaccinations will be required at all concerts, and they will be following the masking mandate and physical distancing requirements in place at the time of the concert.
