July has been a busy month for tourism in Assiniboia. Canada 150 celebrations filled the streets, and day camps and swimming are keeping dozens of young families active.

Ogema Agricultural Society held its 103rd annual summer fair on July 8 with something for everyone. Fair day was action-packed starting with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Deep 小蓝视频 Museum at 7 a.m., followed by a parade down main street.

The Moose Jaw Little League girls softball district All Star Sask Team are heading to the Canadian Championships on July 24-27 taking place in Calgary. The team starts the tournament on July 24 with its first game against Medicine Hat.

The annual Gateway Festival left thousands of music fans with memories of great performances until next year.

Saskatchewan joined the other provinces to reach an agreement of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP) on July 21.

The Assiniboia Car Wash held its grand opening on July 22. David Willis of Assiniboia and Brad Redekopp of Warman took over as the new owners in June. Terry Severson is now the car wash鈥檚 general manager.

Saskatchewan鈥檚 agriculture is not only an economic endeavour but also the subject of artistic works. Saskatchewan has given birth to many artists who live on farms and are inspired creatively by the rural lifestyle and the Prairie landscape.

The Wood Mountain Regional Park rodeo grounds were packed with competitors and rodeo fans attending the historic Wood Mountain Sports and Stampede from July 7-9. The event is the oldest continuous rodeo in Canada since 1890.

The staff at the Assiniboia鈥檚 branch of the RBC have spent a busy summer volunteering in Assiniboia and surrounding communities as part of their Days of Service program. They assisted with the landscaping at Limerick Park on June 8.

The Assiniboia and District Museum is celebrating the summer wedding season and Canada 150 with a fascinating exhibit of historical wedding dresses. The display runs this summer for the months of July and August.
