REGINA - The Regina Drug Unit (RDU) concluded an investigation into drug trafficking in the city of Regina and arrested a 21 year-old man.
The Tactical Support Unit and members of patrol assisted.
This investigation ended with the seizure of a significant quantity of illicit drugs and cash. The value of this seizure is believed to be approximately $700,000.
On March 28, the Regina Police Service conducted a vehicle stop on a suspected drug trafficker. A search yielded:
- Approximately nine ounces of fentanyl; and
- Approximately one kilogram of methamphetamine.
A subsequent search warrant was executed at a residence in the 4400 block of James Hill Road, which yielded:
- Approximately 3.1 kilograms of fentanyl;
- Approximately 3.4 kilograms of methamphetamine;
- Approximately 740 grams of cocaine; and
- Approximately $28,000 in cash.
As a result, a 21 year-old man, from Brampton, Ont., is charged with:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking;
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine);
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl); and
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000.
The accused made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on March 31.
