UNITY—The Unity Composite High School Warriors football team hosted the Biggar Blazers Oct.18 in the 2A conference final, where the Warriors were victorious with a 60-37 win.
Throughout the game, both teams showed remarkable offensive plays. It seemed at one point the Blazers’ offensive line dipped themselves in oil, as they were able to slip out of the hands of the Warriors defensemen on multiple occasions. Although the Blazers were able to add points to the board, it was evident they lack in the kicking department of the game. Many of the converts were no good as the ball barely made it more than five feet off the ground.
When the Warriors had possession of the ball, the offensive line worked together to gain the yards they needed. Graduating player Zen Halter used his speed and fancy footwork to dodge in and out of the ambush of Biggar players. The Warriors continued to gain the yards and points needed to win the game.
The Warriors will continue to the quarter-final game in Wawka on Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
