Senlac Multiple 4-H Club in its 84th year

Participants in Senlac's club have a number of activities coming up to round up their year

SENLAC — The Senlac Multiple 4-H club is now in our 84th year.

The club includes 16 members assisted by seven leaders for the projects of beef, archery and crafts.

Lifting COVID-19 restrictions will allow everyone to join them at upcoming club events.

March 5, at the Senlac Hall, a public speaking competition is 小蓝视频 held. This activity helps kids become more comfortable in this role and is a requirement of 4-H to complete a participant’s year. Kids can advance onto higher levels of competition from this activity.

The club is also thrilled to have cake bingo back, coming up in April at Senlac Hall. Twenty cakes are up for bingo prizes along with one that will be auctioned off. The fundraiser also includes draws for an Easter hamper, Easter flower arrangements and a gift basket.  The 4-H annual cake bingo has been a popular, ongoing event for more than 30 years in the community.

The archery division of the Senlac 4-H club meets and shoots every few weeks at the Senlac gun club.

The craft division members are creative and have done a variety of crafts from snowmen decorations to stepping stones.

4-H achievement day is coming up May 28 at the Senlac Arena. This day set aside for the 4-H club provides an opportunity for the kids to compete and show off their projects from the year. Archery will showcase a skills competition and demonstration. The beef division will be a judged part of the show and will include showmanship, heifer and steer classes among others. As well, the club’s craft projects will be on display.

The day will wrap up with a BBQ supper at the campground.

Senlac Multiple 4-H Club has held five general meetings this year with all of them 小蓝视频 in person. This club reporter has been a member of the club for five years.

Saskatchewan 4-H is a project-based youth organization, devoted to strengthening the skills of responsible citizens, focusing on growth and development of the club’s members, leaders and volunteers through their motto “Learn to do by doing.”
