Our community is identified by many as "the Battlefords" and last weekend's BridgeFest illustrated why that inclusive term is no misnomer.
The volunteers, sponsors and supporters who put their time and hearts behind this second annual exercise in bringing together the city and town as a single entity have earned our thanks and admiration.
An undertaking of this magnitude requires solid leadership and a host of those willing to follow them. That we have individuals in our community who are able and willing to create the magic which erupted in the Flats Saturday, attests to the strength and character of a vibrant community.
The event reflects the varied cultures that make the community interesting and strong, and creating the opportunity to showcase that to residents and visitors is task for which everyone who was involved can be exceedingly proud.
