The 2020-21聽Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League will not have a proper ending.
"A decision by Saskatchewan Government and Health has been made on the submissions that have been before them, unfortunately the SJHL will not be allowed to return to play,"聽 the league said in a media release. They added the current situation is not conducive to a return to the ice.
Hockey games within the league, which includes the Humboldt Broncos, Melfort Mustangs and Nipawin Hawks, have been suspended since Nov. 27 due to provincial health restrictions.
The league said it is now focused on holding a full hockey season in 2021-22.
