SASKATOON — City crews and equipment are ready to clear the roads if conditions change this week. Environment and Climate Change Canada forecast snow and wind gusts of almost 30 kilometres per hour.
The city has prepared 16 sanders and eight plow trucks should winter conditions develop overnight. Priority roads are Circle Drive, expressways, bridge decks, ramps, and high-traffic intersections to maintain safe driving conditions during the morning rush hour.
The road clearing will be done throughout the snowfall, including de-icing treatments in high-priority roads and high-traffic areas.
With snow and below-zero temperatures in the forecast, drivers are reminded to adjust their speed, maintain a safe following distance and give road equipment—indicated by blue and amber flashing lights—the space needed to operate safely.
