Things have been extremely slow in the news department in our area. However, I will report what I have got so far. It will be short and sweet. The Handi-Van Committee held the first bingo of the new year Jan. 14 in the seniors' centre at 7:30 p.m.

The family of Stewart Cunningham held a come and go tea Jan. 16 in the Speers Recreation Centre to celebrate Stewart's 80th birthday. Nearly 100 family and friends helped Stewart celebrate. His birthday is actually on Jan.

Fun day showcases rink repairs

Jan. 21 was a "fun day" at Waseca Rink. It was a great opportunity for family skating, a time to see the tremendous work that has been done by volunteers to upgrade the rink building and get the ice ready for skating.
