The Chapel Gallery presents a Beginners' Mask Making workshop with Karen Kowalski. The workshop will run Friday, May 4 through Sunday, May 6 at the gallery.

As spring continues its advance there are a few things here in Meota that will be starting up. This past week a survey crew was busy spending time, doing what they do, in the planned subdivision along the road to the transfer site.

Students from schools across the Northwest School Division turned in award winning performances at the Region 8 Drama Festival.

Two local watercolour artists have work on exhibition in the Window Salon of the Chapel Gallery. Paintings by Mary Mattila and Margaret Hassan will be on exhibit until the end of April.

The Speers Recreation Board has been busy so far in 2012. The board offered a winter and a spring fitness class that was enjoyed by all who attended. Thanks to Susan Rice for teaching the classes. Look for another class to begin in the fall.

The Ratushniak Elementary School Choir finished their year on a melodic note just before the Easter break. The spring concert, "Let's Pass It On," was a celebration of song open to the entire community of Maidstone.

The Borden Community Centre Preservation Committee is holding their second annual Borden Has Talent event April 15, in the community centre, starting at 1:30 p.m.
