Councillors lower boom on 105th Street property

North Battleford lowered the boom Monday on another run-down property, this time on 105th Street. City council voted unanimously to pass a resolution to raze the property at 1501-105th Street.

Midget Stars split home opener weekend

Saturday, the Stars allowed four powerplay goals and lost 6-2 in their season opener. Justin Lund scored on the powerplay in the first with Dylan Fluter drawing the assists. Jesse Gerbig scored in the second from Regan Yew.

North Stars swept in home-and-home series

Friday night in Melfort, the North Stars scored three first period goals, two by Colin Phaneud and one by Woody Klassen. Kyle Birch was the losing goaltender. The period scores were: 3-3 after the first, 4-3 for Melfort after the second and 6-3.

Aquatics tender awarded to Jen Col Construction

Jen Col Construction Ltd. has been awarded the contract for construction of a six-lane aquatics centre component of the Credit Union CUPlex. Jen Col beat out seven other bidders from all over Canada with a total price of $16,459,000 plus GST.

It was another mixed bag as far as the July crime numbers in North Battleford, with crimes against the person recording a major spike while most other categories saw declines.

Great Canadian Oil Change coming

A new Great Canadian Oil Change will be coming to North Battleford. A three-bay drive-through oil change facility is to be built at 502 Frontier Way, in the C-3 commercial zone.
