WEYBURN – The Annual General Meeting of the Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club was held on May 29. The executive will remain the same with Denis Tremblay as president; Erskine Sandiford as vice president; Marg Stewart as secretary; Garnet Hart and Dave Creurer as co-treasurers; Linda Kot and Theresa Istace as social chairs; and Barry Mactaggart as the club manager. The June Social will be held on Monday, June 19, with a supper followed by bridge.

The team of Barry Mactaggart, Diane Bell, Gord Bell and Marg Stewart participated in the Regina Redcoat Regional Tournament on May 5 and 6, and they placed third in the Knockout Teams 2.

The gold points they were awarded gave Diane Bell enough points to earn her ACBL Silver Life Master (1,000 points), and for Gord Bell to earn his Ruby Life Master (1,500 points).  Barry Mactaggart had earned his Silver Life Master earlier in 2023, and he also recently received an Ace of Clubs certificate and medallion for acquiring the most points in 2022 Saskatchewan Club play in his 500-1,000 points category.

Master points are the measure of achievement in duplicate bridge competition and they are awarded to ACBL members when they win or place in club play or
in tournaments.  There are five different colour categories of MPs, and specific numbers of the coloured MPs are required for each of the Life Master ranks.
