YORKTON - The Sacred Heart Academy / Saint Joseph College graduating class of 1973 held their 50th class reunion June 23 - 25 in Yorkton.
“We were the last graduating class to be all girls at Sacred Heart and all boys at St. Joe's,” noted Stella Lee.
St. Joe's closed in the fall of 1973 and the two schools amalgamated.
The graduating class of 1974 was the first co-ed class at Sacred Heart High School.
Classmates from B.C, Alberta, Sask. Manitoba, Albuquerque, New Mexico and San Jose, Cabos San Lucas attended.
“We had a meet and greet with a barbecue on Friday night,” said Lee.
“Saturday was golfing in the morning or for those who didn't golf they were touring Yorkton, as both our original high schools do not exist anymore.”
In the afternoon a memorial for those who passed was held.
Saturday evening we had a dinner and program.
Sunday morning was a farewell breakfast.
And of course they watched the Saskatchewan Roughriders defeat Calgary.
All events were held at Windy Acres.
