PRINCE ALBERT - The ongoing labour dispute involving inside workers with the City of Prince Albert looks to soon be at an end.
On Monday the Canadian Union of Public Employees confirmed that CUPE 882 had reached an agreement in principle with the City of Prince Albert to end the strike.
A ratification vote has been scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30. The workers had begun job action Aug. 10 and had been in a full withdrawal of services since Sept. 11. In late September it appeared a tentative deal had been reached but the ratification vote ended up called off, over issues that emerged over a proposed call centre СÀ¶ÊÓƵ used by the city. Soon after, the vote did take place and workers rejected the tentative agreement.
Last week, the two sides agreed to return to the bargaining table and the tentative agreement was announced Monday.
The union also confirmed that a planned rally scheduled for Monday had been cancelled.
