WEYBURN – The Weyburn Police Service responded to 78 calls for service during the period of Nov. 13 to 19, resulting in a total of 10 charges. Of the charges, five were laid under the Criminal Code of Canada and five under the Traffic Safety Act (TSA). Of the five criminal charges, two were in relation to individuals who either failed to comply with a condition of their release or failed to attend court when required to do so.
On Tuesday, the Weyburn Police received a report of a vehicle stolen from the driveway of a residence located on the east side of Weyburn. The vehicle is described as a purple (plum) coloured 1997 Jeep Cherokee, bearing Sask. license plate # 560BNE. The vehicle was last seen in the owner’s driveway at approximately 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. This matter remains under investigation. Anyone who may have knowledge of this incident, or who may spot the vehicle, is asked to contact the Weyburn Police immediately.
The Weyburn Police Service continues to receive reports of residents getting calls advising they won a major prize in the STARS Lottery. If you receive such a call, do not provide any personal or financial details to the caller. Do not under any circumstances send any money in any manner. You can verify if you are a legitimate winner by checking the official STARS website, or by contacting them directly at 1-855-449-2444 (Sask), or by emailing [email protected] (*Do not use contact information provider by the caller).

On Wednesday, officers responded to a local non-profit organization as staff reported an upset individual was causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the upset individual had left the building but damaged the mirror of a vehicle parked nearby. The adult male was arrested and charged accordingly.
On another note, the same organization reported that they have been experiencing theft and mischief to donations left outside their building during the evening hours. Again, the Weyburn Police ask that anyone seeing anything suspicious, vehicle or person, contact the Weyburn Police immediately.
On Friday, officers responded to a three-vehicle collision at a downtown intersection. Fortunately no injuries resulted although two of the three vehicles involved sustained significant damage and required towing from the scene. An adult male was charged under the TSA for failing to stop for a red light.
During the week, the Weyburn Police Service conducted several compliance checks on individuals who have criminal matters before the court but were given conditional releases. As a result, one adult female was charged with failing to comply with a condition of her release, and one adult male was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
The Weyburn Police also responded to a variety of other calls including alarms, domestic disturbances, suspicious persons or vehicles, mental health concerns, requests to check on an individual’s well-小蓝视频, harassing communications, and calls relating to animals, parking, or other bylaw concerns.
