SASKATOON – A 33-year-old man charged with a violent sexual assault against a 21-year-old woman is seeking bail. Michael Andrew Thunderchild has a show cause hearing in Saskatoon court Friday.

Thunderchild was taken into custody after the Saskatoon Police Service received a report around 9 a.m. on March 28 that a woman was forcibly confined in a home in the 300 block of Whitney Ave. North. When police arrived, they weren’t able to access the home or make contact with anyone inside.

Thunderchild faces charges of sexual assault, assault, unlawful confinement, and uttering threats. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Sanderson was charged with assault and unlawful confinement. He was granted bail on March 31 and is set to appear in court again April 27.

Additionally, a 13-year-old girl has been charged with unlawful confinement and will appear in Saskatoon court April 24.
