SASKATOON – Two male youths threatened a security guard with a machete after he confronted them about a theft, say Saskatoon police.
On April 13 at around 7:30 p.m., police were in the 300 block of Confederation Drive for an unrelated matter when they were approached by a loss prevention officer reporting to have just been threatened with a machete after catching two male youth stealing from a business. The security guard wasn’t injured and the suspects fled with the stolen merchandise.
Minutes later, both suspects were located nearby at a bus terminal and arrested following a brief verbal confrontation with police. A machete was located and seized.
