PRINCE ALBERT – Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) arrested a man and recovered a delivery truck stolen from Saskatoon after a tip from the public.
On April 11, at about 8:50 a.m., the PAPS officers were dispatched to the 900 block of 17th Street West for suspicious activity. It was reported individuals were unloading expensive property from a large truck.
Patrol located a delivery truck that had been stolen earlier in the day from a business in Saskatoon. The truck and $21,390 worth of auto parts were recovered.
Members of the PAPS Proactive Policing Unit assisted with the investigation and have charged a 40-year-old man with possession of stolen property over $5,000. He will make his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on April 25.
Police say reporting suspicious activity to the police is crucial for maintaining public safety and preventing crime. The community provides valuable information that can help identify and address suspicious activity before escalation. By reporting such incidents promptly and accurately, community members play a vital role in assisting police investigations and protecting their neighbourhoods. Timely reporting allows the police to intervene swiftly, potentially preventing harm to individuals and property.
“We would like to thank the public for their vigilance in reporting any suspicious behaviour or activities promptly,” say PAPS.
