Around 11:45 p.m. on March 22, the RCMP officer had stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of 12th Street West and when he approached the vehicle, an occupant discharged bear spray at the officer before fleeing from the area.

About 40 minutes later, a Prince Albert Police Service member located the vehicle in the 2700 block of 2nd Avenue West. A vehicle stop was attempted but the driver tried to evade apprehension.

The driver abandoned the vehicle in the 400 block of 23rd Street East and tried to escape on foot. PAPS patrol members, with the assistance of the Canine Unit, located the male hiding in a yard in the 400 block of 23rd Street East.

As a result of the Canine apprehension, the male sustained an injury. He was transported to the Victoria Hospital, received medical attention, then released.
