Cut Knife RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP鈥檚 Police Dog Services located the suspect a short time later.
POUNDMAKER CREE NATION - Update: Nov. 15, 10:59 a.m.: Police are reporting a suspect who was wanted following a cocaine seizure has now been arrested.
As a result of investigation, Cut Knife RCMP determined the man was in a home on Poundmaker Cree Nation on Nov. 14.
Officers obtained a warrant to enter the residence. As they approached, a man fled from the home into a field behind it.
Cut Knife RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Police Dog Services located him a short time later.
The suspect was arrested on his outstanding warrant.
He is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Nov. 15.
Original post, Nov. 13, 3:45 p.m.: On Nov. 9, Cut Knife RCMP executed a search warrant at a home on Poundmaker Cree Nation in relation to an ongoing trafficking investigation.
Officers located and seized approximately 250 grams of cocaine, trafficking paraphernalia, ammunition and weapons in the residence.
As a result of continued investigation, officers have charged a 49-year-old man from Poundmaker Cree Nation with: possession for the purpose of trafficking; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and fail to comply with release-order condition.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest and Cut Knife RCMP are actively working to locate him
