Loaded gun, drugs result from Regina traffic stop

Teen made first court appearance on charges, police say.

REGINA – An early morning traffic stop yielded arrests for weapons and drug offences.

Police say a vehicle was stopped on the 1800 block of St. John Street just after midnight on April 20. The two people inside the vehicle allegedly had drugs "in plain view."

"Both occupants exited the vehicle and were taken into police custody," said RPS in a media release. "Police also located a loaded firearm and ammunition inside the vehicle.

Antoine Agecoutay, 19, was charged with careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a loaded firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a scheduled substance, and failure to comply with a probation order,

Agecoutay made his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning.
