REGINA – Police have charged a Regina man with attempted murder after an altercation earlier this month.
The incident took place just before 3 a.m. on April 2 when police were called to 11th Avenue and Quebec Street for a weapons offence. When they arrived, EMS was already on scene tending to a man who had been assaulted and shot in a neighbouring home.
"The male victim told officers he was in the residence on the 1700 block of Quebec Street, when a group of three males entered the home, assaulted, and shot him," said RPS in a media release. "The male victim was taken to hospital by EMS and treated for his injuries."
A joint investigation between members of the RPS Patrol Support Unit and Online Stolen Property Unit ultimately resulted in the arrest of a suspect in this incident on April 16.
Zachary Tomlin, 27, faces a charge of attempted murder and made a first appearance on April 17 in Regina Provincial Court.
