SASKATOON – A 10-day jury trial in Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench for a woman charged with second-degree murder in the death of 37-year-old Adam Jeffery Willett  is scheduled to start March 17, 2025.

Ryah Marty Sorenson was arrested after Saskatoon police were called to a home in the 1600 block of 7 Street East at about 7:25 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2022, and found Willett’s body.

According to Willett's obituary, he was known for his love and passion for his music. He loved jamming with friends and playing his saxophone and guitars.

Whenever Willett would go out to visit friends for a night it was always “can I bring my guitar,” stated his obituary. "For some of us, we will always remember Adam and his dance moves, busting out whenever the song 'Solija boy' would come on over the speakers at overdrive."

Willett had a lot of love to give, he loved all who came into his life he always remembered to say nice things to the people who were there, said his obituary.

He was always checking in on his friends, even at the oddest of hours. If he had a feeling someone wasn’t okay, he’d shoot them a message or a phone call. He was always there for the ones he loved and would do everything he could to help them out. Adam loved his family the most. His daughters were the apples of his eye. Family meant everything to Adam, and he would always share stories of them to everyone. He was very protective of his mom and his daughters.
