MOSQUITO FIRST NATION – Police are searching for 37-year-old Kelly McDonald after a woman was assaulted by an armed man about 10 p.m. on Monday.
Battlefords RCMP received a report of an assault at a residence on Mosquito, Grizzly Bear's Head, Lean Man First Nation and their investigation determined a man armed with a firearm assaulted a woman at a residence. She was able to leave the home and call for help. She reported non-life-threatening injuries to police.
Battlefords RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team searched the residence for the man, who was not located.
As a result of further investigation, McDonald from Mosquito, Grizzly Bear's Head, Lean Man First Nation, is charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, using a firearm during an offence, careless use of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest and Battlefords RCMP are actively working to locate him.
McDonald is approximately 5-foot-11 and 150 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. Police say the photo is the most recent RCMP photo available and his hair may be a bit longer than shown.
McDonald may be driving an orange, 1985 Chevrolet truck with a short box/bed.
