REGINA – A Fort Qu’Appelle area man who was the subject of a province-wide warrant has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, according to the RCMP.
The investigation began after an incident at 7th Avenue and Pasqua Street on Sept. 8 when RPS members responded to a call of a weapons offence.
“Police located a 23 year-old female victim who alleged that a male (known to her) had earlier pointed, and then discharged, a firearm at her,” RCMP said in a media release. “She was taken to hospital with injuries consistent with the allegation.”
RPS members had created a perimeter around the house they believed to be where the shooting occurred, but the suspect had fled the scene. A warrant was then issued for the man.
The investigation concluded on Nov. 2 through the joint efforts of the RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team, Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP, the Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team, and the RPS Street Gang Unit, making the arrest without incident.
Charged with attempted murder, contrary to section 239(1)(a) of the Criminal Code is Theoren Wendell Pasqua. He was further arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to comply with a probation order. Pasqua first appeared in court on Nov. 3, with a subsequent appearance set for Nov. 24.
