REGINA — A Regina man has been arrested and charged in connection to an armed robbery at a casino in Alberta.
Following a lengthy investigation, St. Albert, Alta., RCMP GIS went to Regina, Sask., and arrested Shaun Rains, 49. Regina Police Service helped locate and arrest Rains, without incident.
Rains was transported from Regina to St. Albert by sheriffs and was remanded in custody.
He appears in Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert on April 8 to face charges of robbery with an imitation firearm, using an imitation firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Rains is accused of entering the Century Casino in St. Albert at about 3:52 p.m. on Nov. 12, 2023, producing a firearm and demanding money, before fleeing in a dark-coloured Jeep Cherokee.
RCMP say they aren’t disclosing how much money was taken.
