Accused in assault with boiling water seeks bail

A 30-year-old woman suffered severe burns in the assault.

SASKATOON – A 29-year-old man who allegedly assaulted a 30-year-old woman with boiling water is seeking bail. Dustin Oleskiw was remanded in custody after his appearance in Saskatoon Provincial Court April 21. A bail hearing has been set for Thursday.

Oleskiw has been in custody since he was arrested Feb. 7. Saskatoon police say they were called to the 200 block of Ave. R СÀ¶ÊÓƵ for a report of assault with boiling water. When police arrived, they found a woman suffering from severe burns.

Police arrested Oleskiw without incident and charged him with aggravated assault.

The charge against Oleskiw hasn’t been tested in court.
