It’s an old story that is again beginning to play out with a new chapter in Saskatchewan. The story is about predatory animals and farmers. The two simply have never gotten along. Predators are generally smart, at least among animals.

Residents had the opportunity to welcome, meet and greet the new doctors recently acquired for the Preeceville Medical Clinic. The meet-and-greet session was held at the Preeceville Legion Hall on October 17.

During Education Week (October 16 to 27) students and staff at the Preeceville School were acknowledged for all their hard work. This year, the theme of Education Week focused on “Celebrating Today, Preparing for Tomorrow.

A two-day trappers’ course that featured a balance of theory and practical experience was held at Rockford on October 15 and 16. The course was sponsored by the Saskatchewan Trapper Association.

Furbearer conservation, including all aspects that relate to the harvest of furbearers, are under provincial jurisdiction and are managed by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment, said Colin Lawson, Ministry of Environment in the Yorkton field off

Bob Drayer of Sturgis hosted a benefit concert with his compositions on the organ, harpsichord and the clavichord. The concert, to benefit the victims of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti, was held at the Sturgis Grace United Church Hall on October 17.

Wet and cool weather, especially frequent rain and snow and lower temperatures, have stalled harvest for three weeks.

All of us, be it at Halloween or not, have heard a good ghost story. That could include a story about unexplained apparitions, colourful orbs appearing, something lurking in the dark or mysterious lights flashing.
