Time for Junior football in city

We are in the middle of a Riderville competition and while I suspect Yorkton has a very good chance of winning, I'd like to take this opportunity of seeing football in the limelight to once again suggest a Canadian Junior Football League team for Yorkton. I think it would work. Of course, you need 'volunteers' and qualified personnel to get it off the ground; but seeing where minor football is going in this community, I think this is very attainable. Personally, I would lend a hand wherever possible. As far as budgets go, I think it would be Yorkton Terrier territory or less. They only play 8 games, so the 4 home dates would be well attended based on the 'less is more' theory. The facility at the Yorkton Regional High School is second to none.

Am I the only person that gets a little anxious whenever a thunder and lightning storm strikes Yorkton? On Sunday night, we had some dark clouds quickly cover the city and the sky opened up with rain, a light show, and some heavy thunder shots. All in all, however, pretty harmless. Still, I found myself standing outside watching everything unfoldjust in case.

I am reminded of the small minded games that go on in New Brunswick (my home province) whenever I read one of the local papers on-line. In Bathurst, city council was forced to backtrack on a promise to raise the flag of the New Brunswick Anglo Society this fall. The city, which has a strong French population, was criticized for supporting a group that many have called anti-French and against bilingualism. I realize I'm in dreamland when I say this, but I wish all special interest groups would go away. I long for a day when we can just be equal regardless of the language we speak, the color of our skin, etc.

Yorkton has developed bike lanes on a couple of city streets. Two thumbs up. The bigger story will be whether or not bikers and automobile drivers know how to use them.

Dave Zinczenko, from Men's Health Magazine, had a couple of interesting tidbits on his Twitter account last week. The first of which states your energy levels increase 32% if you exercise 30 minutes a day, three times a week, for 4 weeks. The second of which: the compound that makes chilli spicy attacks the development of colon cancer.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders lost 30-26 to Montreal on the weekend. I won't give the Als any credit here. The Riders lost the game more than Montreal won it. The return game makes me so upset, I'm debating turning my back every time BC punts the ball on Thursday night. I wonder if it will catch on?

I'm also wondering if Darian Durant is reading the news clippings about him 小蓝视频 the CFL's best quarterback. I still feel that's true, but sometimes I see him trying to do too much. Now that I've had over a full year to evaluate him, I see Durant as a CFL version of Donovan McNabb.

Nice person mentions this week to Amanda Popoff, Megan Paulhus, Rosie Blazeiko, Ron Irvine, Geoff Auckland, Calvin Daniels, and Amanda Popoff (yes, I know she's here twice, but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss it!).
