YORKTON - The Yorkton Terriers were no doubt happy to be away from North Battlefords after allowing 17 goals to the Stars in back-to-back SJHL games.
But the defence didn’t exactly find its way in Kindersley Saturday either giving up seven goals to the host Klippers.
Things looked good for the Terriers early.
Jye Zawatsky gave them a 1-0 lead at 5:20 with a powerplay effort.
Anthony Domina with another powerplay effort at 13:35 made it 2-0.
Brock Evans cut into the lead with a Klipper effort at 15:47.
Domina however added his second of the game at 19:36 to give Yorkton a 3-1 lead heading to the dressing room after 20-minutes.
The powerplay put the Klippers back in the game early in the second frame as Keenan Ingram at 2:37 and Evans with his second of the game at 7:09 scored man advantage efforts to knot the score 3-3.
The Terriers edged back ahead as Aiden Knutson scored at 8:31 and Jeff Hammond potted a powerplay goal to give Yorkton a 5-3 lead.
A short-handed effort by Logan Linklater at 17:18 made it 5-4 after 40-minutes.
The third would be a wild and woolie affair.
Thirteen seconds in Brett Butz of the Terriers and Easton Inglis of the Klippers each took a minor, a fighting major and 10-minute misconducts.
At 3:11 the teams were assessed five minor and four 10-minute misconducts.
Oh, and amid the third period shenanigans goals were scored too.
Logan Linklater scored his second straight goal 15 seconds in to tie things.
Zakery Anderson edged the Klippers ahead with another man-advantage marker at 3:11.
Tyson Perkins drew Yorkton even with yet another powerplay goal, this one at 3:37.
Anderson would then score his second straight of the game at 5:07, a goal which proved the game-winner in the 7-6 contest.
Blake Sittler was in net for the Yorkton loss facing 35-shots.
Logan Falk saw 20-minutes in the Kindersley net allowing three goals on 14 shots, with Cody Jaman also allowing three goals on 15-shots in 40-minutes playing time.
The Terriers are back on the road to face Notre Dame Wednesday, then head to Nipawin Friday.
