YORKTON - After a 9-2 loss in Battlefords Thursday, the Yorkton Terriers were hoping for a better result taking on the Stars Friday.
Offensively, things did go better.
The result did not.
The first period was a back-and-forth affair.
Cooper Algayer scored an unassisted marker at 4:40 to put the Terriers on the board.
Kobie Anderson tied things at 11:42.
A powerplay marker by Jason Desnoyers at 12:58 inched Yorkton back ahead.
Evan Waldie tied the game 2-2 with a powerplay efforts for the Stars at 17:43, sending the teams to the dressing room deadlocked.
In the second the Stars took over the game.
Kian Bell struck only 45 seconds in, and then Jordan Grill, Rylan Williams, Andrew Casellato and Braydn Sinclair added markers and it was 7-2.
Jeff Hammond did add a powerplay goal later for Yorkton leaving it 7-3 after 40-minutes.
Yorkton tried to climb back into the contest as Jye Zawatsky scored 7:05 into the third period, followed by a Quintin Unreiner goal at 13:20 to make it 7-5.
But, a Kian Bell goal at 16:34 rounded out the scoring, and 8-5 Stars win.
Justen Maric was in net for the Stars facing 33-shots in the win.
Adam Kelly faced 13-shots and allowed five goals in 29:49 for Yorkton, with Blake Sittler facing 22-shotrs and allowing three goals in 30:11.
The Terriers complete a three-games in three days road swing in Kindersley tonight.
