July 5 was a chilly evening compared to recent heatwave temperatures in the Canora area. However, it did not stop Kody Rock from having one of his classic dominant performances, as he carried the Supers on the mound and with the lumber to a 7 to 1 victory over the visiting Langenburg Legends, said Supers player/coach Greg Andreychuk.

鈥淭he Legends were able to plate a run in the top of the first on a single and a double, but Rock would only surrender two more hits and no runs the rest of the evening,鈥 said Andreychuk. 鈥淗e struck out 14 and walked none as he was in complete command of the strike zone.鈥

With the bat, Rock was three for four including a double, two home runs, three runs scored, four RBI (runs batted in) and a stolen base. Zach Rakochy continued his solid season with a single, double, two runs and two RBI. His double broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth to give the Supers some much needed breathing room. Travis Mentanko, Kholton Shewchuk, and Derek Palagian each had one single apiece, as the offence capitalized at key moments.

With the win, the Supers would hold the tiebreaker with Langenburg if the two teams end up with the same record at the end of the season.

The Supers hosted their final regular season game of the year on July 7 against the visiting Parkland Pirates. After taking a 2 to 0 lead, the Supers surrendered three runs and the lead in the top of the third, but added four in the bottom of the third and never looked back in an 8 to 4 victory.

鈥淭ravis Mentanko set the tone early with a solo home run in the bottom of the first,鈥 reported Andreychuk. 鈥淗e would go on to add a double and a single, while scoring two runs to lead the way offensively. Sean Kolodziejski also hit a home run, plus a single and drove in two runs. Zach Rakochy continued his hot hitting with a single, double and three RBI. Ian Quewezance, Derek Palagian and Taber Ebert each collected one hit.鈥

Kholton Shewchuk tossed five innings on the mound to collect the win. He gave up six hits and three earned runs while striking out two. Derek Palagian picked up the save by allowing just one run over two innings.

With the win, the Supers raised their record to 6 wins and 1 loss, and look forward to a three-game road trip to close out the 2021 小蓝视频east Senior Baseball League regular season.
