Sturgis cross-country runners do well at district competition

Eleven Sturgis Composite School cross-country athletes did well with placing in the top 10 of their age categories at the Cherrydale district cross-country meet held in Yorkton on October 6.

            Eleven Sturgis Composite School cross-country athletes did well with placing in the top 10 of their age categories at the Cherrydale district cross-country meet held in Yorkton on October 6.

            In the beginner boys category, Avyn Seerey placed ninth and Cole Masley placed sixth. In the beginner girls category, Anna Hort placed fifth and Savannah Olson placed 10th.

            Jordyn Blanchard placed eighth in the sneaker girls category.

            In the squirt category, boys, Trae Peterson placed eighth and Tristen Beatty placed sixth; girls, Emma Olson placed sixth and Brea Babiarz placed first.

            Chaz Jaeb placed fourth in the peewee boys category and Shanae Olson placed second in the midget category.

            Shanae Olson was the only Sturgis athlete who was old enough and qualified for the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Provincial cross-country meet in Turtleford on October 14. Olson placed 16th out of 94 runners from across Saskatchewan.
