The Parkland Racing Association held their year-end finale over the weekend with car action running on both days, said Brendan Dickey, PRA president.
Tyler Carter won thunder heat race 1, while Kelly Baber won the second and third heats, as well as the thunder feature.
In the street stock division, Terry Heddon won heat one, Dave Clark won heat two and Ryan Atkings won the third heat.
Clark also won the street feature while Atkings also won the Dash 4 Cash. Brian Matkowski was the winner in the Mechanics race and Jen Atkings won the Ladies race.
According to the PRA, Clark was the overall street stock champion while Carter won the title of thunderstruck champion.
Sunday afternoon concluded the season with the demolition derby. Bernie Bilay of Dauphin won the features award, Devon Kuntz won runner up, Ryan Atkings won the consolation heat, Dustin Heddon won runner up, Patrick Pelletier won the Mechanics heat and Heddon also won for the best dressed car.
Dickey said it was a good weekend to have the finale on.
The weather stayed ideal for racing, except for a short hail storm on Sunday, all racing went ahead as scheduled, said Dickey.
He added that it wasn't a surprise that the crowd turnout was bigger than usual especially for the demolition derby which ran for about four hours on Sunday.
"We always have a better turnout. This year was one of the best. The weather was good."
PRA racer Terry Heddon was in on the final day of racing, agreed with Dickey that the spectators for the last day of races was likely the best its been all season.
"It was a little down from last year, but it was a real nice turnout."
Heddon wished to thank all the sponsors for their help through the race season.
"The people supporting us, flag persons, the lap counters, the behind-the-scenes guysthere's a lot of guys that aren't car drivers that helped out," Heddon went on to explain.
"They don't get a lot of recognition, either," he added.
