聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Preeceville School senior football team concluded its season after playing its final game at home against Assiniboia on October 13, but fell short with a loss of 20-8.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Coaching staff included Jeremy Mattison, Bill Dodge, Doug King, Kenton Hull and Patrick Livingstone.
Players were: Willen Paligan, James Dodge, Matthew Fenske, Dawson Paul, Keegan Bilanchuk, Brandon Dyky, Dweight Paligan, Bo Babiuk, Jesse Johnson, Erik Sandager, Jalen Bayer, Sean Paligan, Todd Pankratz, Eli Kashuba, Uriah Holter, Kale Musey, Dylan Wiwcharuk, Chrsitian Acosta, James Lagrove, Jesse Prestie, Kelton Novak and Elijah Hort.
鈥淲e started the game strong with defense playing hard," said Jeremy Mattison. "We had seen turnovers from both teams and at the end of the second quarter Assiniboia scored. We just could not get the ball moving.鈥
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 鈥淎s a team we played hard with players focused on becoming better players.
鈥淲e will be losing four senior players next season: Bo Babiuk, Matthew Fenske, Brandon Dyky and Jesse Johnson, and the focus will be on the junior players moving up with a good number of returning players,鈥 he said. 鈥淭he organization wishes to express its gratitude towards the parents, families and community for their support throughout the season.
鈥淲e had a very young rebuilding year with many players having never played senior ball,鈥 he said. 鈥淛unior ball is very different than senior ball.
鈥淭he players all worked hard and their dedication to the sport was huge. Morning practices seemed to really work well for the team and we will be continuing that in the next season.
鈥淲e had Kenton Hull join us in the coaching staff which was greatly appreciated.
鈥淔ootball is a 12-month sport with two months of actual playing,鈥 he said. 鈥淚n the end, if we as an organization can impact a player鈥檚 life by making positive changes, then we have succeeded.
