On November 9, the Canora Peewee Cobras hosted a five-team preseason hockey tournament at the Canora Civic Centre.
In addition to the hosts, other teams taking part in the action were: Esterhazy, Indian Head, Fort Knox and Balcarres, said Jeff Sznerch, head coach.
鈥淚t was exciting to have the Civic Center full, with over 80 hockey players in attendance,鈥 said Sznerch. 鈥淥ne of the goals of the day was to try to get teams from outside our usual league play. It鈥檚 nice to have a variety of competition and meet people from new places.鈥
The timing of the tournament allowed the Cobras to 鈥済et some games under our belt鈥 and give the team some time to bond as the season gets into full swing.
Canora played each of the visiting teams once during the tournament.
鈥淲e had some very close games,鈥 reported Sznerch. 鈥淭he Cobras managed to win all of the games in spite of 小蓝视频 tested by the competition. We were proud to see the whole team working together and showing grit and depth.鈥澛
Sznerch, the coaching staff and the players are looking forward to what鈥檚 sure to be an eventful season.聽
鈥淲e have our goals set high and hope that this season we can overcome the challenges that lie before us. We hope the community will join in and cheer us on throughout the season,鈥 Sznerch concluded.聽
