The parents of the IP Flyers suited up in Togo Terriers’ jerseys and took to the ice on March 16 at the Broda Sportsplex in a game against their squirts.
Wearing their red jerseys, the Flyers chanted “Let’s go Flyers, let’s go!” and the game was on.
“I haven’t seen the kids this excited about a game all season,” said Nikki Ruf, team manger. “They have had a great season and everyone has given their all.”
This game between the Flyers and their parents was part of the wind-up for their hockey season.
After the game, everyone enjoyed pizza and juice in the lobby of the arena.
Jocelyn Symak, on behalf of the parents, thanked the coaches, Tyler Lorenzo, Lee Symak and Jared Ruf, for their “hard work and dedication during the season,” and presented each with a thank-you gift, as the team broke out into “Three cheers for the coaches!”
