The Kamsack Comprehensive Institute senior female golf team placed second and the male team placed third at the East Central District Athletic Association’s district senior golf tournament played at the Madge Lake Golf Resort on September 15.
           Members of the female team were: Shaelyn David, who had a total score of 127 points; Sadie McGriskin, 132; Shani Bear, 134, and Allison Placatka, 145.
           On the boys team were: Zac McGriskin, 86 points; Taryn Broda, 88; Liam Lachambre, 100, and Austin Hilderman, 113.
           The KCI female team, with 232 points, placed second, while Esterhazy, with 225 points was first, and the Yorkton Regional High School team, third with 272 points.
           With 254 points, the KCI male team placed third, while the Yorkton Regional team placed first with 240 points, and Yorkton Sacred Heart, second with 253.
           A total of 38 golfers participated, including 10 females and 28 males.
           Winning high school golfers will be returning to Madge Lake on September 23 and 24 when KCI hosts the provincial competition that is expected to involved 120 golfers. The competition’s opening СÀ¶ÊÓƵ will be held on September 23 at 10:30 a.m.
           Meanwhile, on Monday, the KCI junior golf team of about a dozen players, were to have participated in the district competition in Canora.
           Both teams have been practicing for the two weeks since the school term began.
           Working with the students as coaches and managers are Kevin Kitchen, Dave Placatka, Barb Tetoff and Shannon Bielecki. Â
