KCI cross-country athletes win ribbons and a gold medal

Six of the 15 Kamsack Comprehensive Institute students who participated in the district cross-country competition at Cherrydale on October 5 placed in the top 10 of their categories and one of them won a gold medal.

            Six of the 15 Kamsack Comprehensive Institute students who participated in the district cross-country competition at Cherrydale on October 5 placed in the top 10 of their categories and one of them won a gold medal.

            Kerrie Craske, their coach, said that the 15 who were selected to compete were the students who had attended their practice sessions regularly since the beginning of the term. Runners who placed first, second or third won medals, while those in fourth place to 10 place received ribbons.

            Cadence Campeau, in peewee girls (13 and under) won the gold medal running three kilometres. Her time was not available.

            Tyrone Keshane, in sneaker boys (under 11 and racing two kilometres), placed sixth out of 38 runners with a time of 9:12.

            Curtis Berezowski, in peewee boys (under 13, racing three kilometres), placed ninth out of 15 runners with a time of 14:02.

            Jordyn Thomas, in bantam girls (under 14 and racing three kilometres), placed sixth out of 11 runners. Her time was not available.

            Maison Davis, in midget girls (under 15 and racing three kilometres), placed eighth. Her time was not available.

            Kira Kitsch, in junior girls (under 16 and racing four kilometres), placed fifth. Her time was not available.
