Good Spirit cross country results from Deer Park

The Good Spirit School Division held its second of three cross country meets for their students recently at the Deer Park Municipal Golf Course.

The Good Spirit School Division held its second of three cross country meets for their students recently at the Deer Park Municipal Golf Course.

Twenty-six schools were involved in the meet and 600 students competed in the course, said Pat Holtkamp, principal of Calder School.

In the quirt boys category: Tyler Buenneke, Yorkdale Central Public School, finished first; Eric Sandage, Preeceville School, came second; Todd Pankratz, Preeceville School, came third.

In squirt girls: Shanne Olson, Sturgis Elementary, came in first; Jasmine Mucha, Miller, placed second, and Katelyn Kraushoar, Grayson School, came third.

In beginner boys: Drew Kirk, Langenburg, first place; Kaleb Weinheimer, Columbia School, second place; Austin Dycer, Yorkdale Central, third place.

In beginner girls: Sadie McGriskin, Victoria School, first place; Zoe Flaman, Yorkdale Central, second place; Taylor Trakalo, third place.

In sneaker boys: Josiah Head, Preeceville School, placed first, Nathan Head, Preeceville School, second place and Dylan Novak, Saltcoats School, third place.

Sneaker girls: Sarah Novakowski, Yorkdale Central School, first place; Ashley Beunneke, Yorkdale Central School, second place; Allison Robinson, third place.

In Wee Pee boys: Kaito Farquarson, Saltcoats School, first place; Carson Miller, MC Knoll, second place; Luke Nkwarma, Esterhazy School, third place.

In Wee Pee girls: Tanesha Novak, Kelvington School, first place; Brittany Varga, Esterhazy School, second place; Shayna Dubas, Invermay School, third place.

Pee Wee boys results: Derek Campbell, Saltcoats School, finished in first place; Derrick Budz, Yorkdale Central School, second place; Daylin Novak, Kelvington School, third place.

In the Pee Wee girls category: Sierra Cook, MC Knoll, first place; Julia Halcrow, Melville, second place; Jillian Just, Yorkdale Central School, third place.

Bantam boys results: Stephan Gerick, Kelvington School, first place; Colby Entz, Churchbridge School, second place; TJ McBride, Columbia School.

In the bantam girls division: Teagan Lubiniecki, Churchbridge School, finished in first place; Kellie Onda-Inglis, Saltcoats Schools, second place; MacKenzie Prouse, Kelvington School, third place.

In the midget boys category: Jaden Porte, Yorkton Regional High School, placed first;
Haylen Langelier, Yorkton Regional High School, second place; Cole Lindsay, Yorkton Regional High School, third place.

In the midget girls category: Jessie Lutz, Yorkdale Central Public School; Jasmine Kerr, Esterhazy School, second place; Lindsay Kennedy, Yorkton Regional High School, third place.

Holtkamp said it was the first time that Kelvington School joined the meet. Each participating school sent their own team ranging from Gr. 1-9.

She said school staff members were out the night before helping to set up the track.

"This is a wonderful facility to have," she said, adding that she was grateful for "all the help from the staff and teachers.

Districts will be held in Melville this year, she added.
