Over 35 people came out to participate in the first organized fun shoot sponsored by the Kamsack River Valley Archery Club (RVAC).
鈥淥ur event in Veregin was a club fundraiser as well as an opportunity for people to try archery, no matter their skill level,鈥 said Scott Green, Club president.
The Club is new to the area and Green is optimistic that it will flourish.
鈥淥ur Club does not have a large number of members as yet, but we are trying hard to get the word out about how much fun archery is, and 小蓝视频 able to use the Veregin rink as a range is good.鈥
Members were sporting their new RVAC T-shirts for the weekend shoot on April 21 and 22.
鈥淲e had the 3-D targets set up and regular paper targets set up at various distances,鈥 said Green. 鈥淭here were both adult and youth bows set up for prospective Club members to try. I spent most of the weekend giving pointers on form and shooting technique. We got a lot of positive feedback from those who came out during the two-day event.鈥
The group had a 50/50 target shoot, and Cody Langlois of Kamsack was the winner, when his arrow hit closest to the hidden dot.
鈥淲e had a shortage of volunteers to help during the weekend, and I鈥檇 like to thank Allan Wonitowy from the Kamsack branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation for stepping up to lend our members a hand,鈥 said Green.
The next RVAC fun shoot is 小蓝视频 planned for some time during the summer, and RVAC will be on hand at the town-wide community group registration in the fall to accept new members. Club updates will be posted its Facebook page.
