Canora town council spent a fair amount of time during the last regular meeting deciding what to do about the large amount of garbage found in blue recycling carts.

More than 440 pounds of food were donated from the Canora Gateway Co-op food store and the Buchanan store to the Filling the Gap food bank in Canora through the Farm Credit Canada (FCC) Drive Away Hunger campaign which ran during the month of Novembe

During its regular meeting on December 1, Canora town council approved its tax concession and discount policies for 2016. There are no changes in the policy from the current year, said Michael Mykytyshyn, the town鈥檚 chief administrative officer.

Merv Malish of Canora was nominated November 30 as the Progressive Conservative candidate for the Canora-Pelly constituency in the next provincial election.

Each year, a special Christmas tree is assembled at the Canora Composite School library, which shares the premises with the Canora branch of the Parkland Regional Library.

The peewee drama program at Canora Composite School has developed into something far greater than just drama. There was 鈥渁 pretty full house鈥� for the drama club鈥檚 presentation of Crazy Characters on December 2, said Andrew Hoffman, the director.
