The SCHS junior girls basketball team brought home their first tournament win by defeating the Hudson Bay home team on January 8-9. The two-day tournament hosted by Hudson Bay featured five teams plus the host team.

The Preeceville hockey teams in the Major Hockey League have already seen action in the new year. In the atom division, the first game had the Pats travelling to Yorkton on January 3.

Yorkton Council unanimously approved its Capital and Operating Budgets for 2016 at its regular meeting Monday. 鈥淎t the December 14, 2015 Committee of the Whole Council meeting the 2016 Capital & Operating Budgets were presented for adoption.
