The amendment of a traffic safety bylaw and the sale of used chain link from the ball diamonds were among the items of concern to town council at its regular meeting on June 4.
Council agreed to amend its traffic safety bylaw to permit the use of school bus safety lights and stop arms within the town limits as requested by Canora Schools Concerned Parents and School Community Council.
Council authorized the sale of the used chain link from the sportsgrounds ball diamonds to Doug Reese of Saskatoon for $1,100.
Council approved the request of Tony Ripa to cut hay on NE and NW 16-32-3 W2 for $450 in 2019.
Council authorized Darcy Rewakowsky, water treatment plant operator, and Erick Boychuk, assistant water treatment plant operator, to attend the Saskatchewan Water and Wastewater Association (SWWA) annual conference to be held November 5 to 8 in Saskatoon.
Council authorized Michael Mykytyshyn, chief administrative officer, to attend the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) How to Prosecute Bylaws webinar. Council accepted the voluntary transfer of title to the vacant lot properties 222 Fourth Avenue West (Lot 6, Block 11, Plan S1372) and 223 Roslyn Avenue (Lot 9, Block 176, Plan Z5500) from John and Kathy Prokopchuk.
Council agreed to reschedule the July 2 regular council meeting to July 9 and cancel the July 16 regular meeting.
