For the first time, the Saskatchewan Young Readers' Choice Willow Awards Gala was held in a small town. Saltcoats School proudly hosted the eighth annual Willow Awards on Friday, April 30th.

Yorkton Kalyna Dance School recently attended the Brandon Ukrainian Dance Competition April 16 -18. The Kalyna Dance school is under the direction of Regina based instructors Serhiy and Liana Zabutnyy. Theyhad excellent results.

On Saturday, April 24 the registration for this years Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer took place at the Parkland Mall. Close Cuts started in 1998 when Brayden Ottenbreit, then a three year old boy, from Yorkton was diagnosed with cancer.

About 150 wrestling fans in Yorkton were treated to a show they likely hadn't seen in quite awhile and supposedly it will not be the last time they see it, either.

The Yorkton Business Improvement District (YBID) made a presentation to Council outlining its budget and three-year plan. Phil DeVos, executive director of YBID said the presentation was 小蓝视频 made since it is a committee of Council.

The upcoming boating season marks the first year that all boaters in Canada, regardless of age, will need to have a boating license. In order to receive a boating license boaters must pass a 36 question multiple choice exam with a 75% passing grade.

A Yorkton student returned from the Queen's Bench Court House in Saskatoon with a trophy in hand, recognizing his skills as a lawyer in the 11th annual McKercher Cup.

Christ the Teacher School Division held its first divisional chess tournament last week. St. Paul's, St. Michael's and St. Henry's in Melville participated in the tournament, organized by Charlotte Lovequist and Ardis Wayman.
