Kamsack Minor Hockey is hosting a U13 team to compete at the provincial level, made up of players from communities across the region.

The generosity of the community has enabled the Heart and Home Quilting Club to extend its reach to various local groups. Quilts have been distributed to Eaglestone Lodge, Kamsack Nursing Home, Victim Services, and the Kamsack Fire Hall.

In an afternoon filled with spirited competition, the youth hockey teams of the Kamsack U13 Flyers and Canora U13 Cobras faced off in a closely contested match, with Canora ultimately emerging victorious with a final score of 7-3 on Jan. 19.

The Kamsack Flyers U9 Minor Hockey tournament on Jan. 13 showcased an array of thrilling matchups, leaving fans on the edge of their seats. The tournament, which featured teams from Kamsack Flyers, Roblin Stars, Yorkton RH Electric Terriers, Preeceville and Yorkton Outta Here Travel, witnessed some closely contested battles.

NORQUAY — The Norquay Pre-K program opened its doors to parents and interested community members for an open house event, offering a glimpse into the daily activities and learning environment of the young students. The event occurred on Jan.

The Norquay Knights Junior Boys Basketball Tournament kicked off on Friday, Jan. 12, drawing basketball enthusiasts from the local community and beyond. The two-day event featured a dynamic schedule of matchups that promised competitive play.

In a gesture of community support, local businessman Rick Aikman presented a donation of $8432.25 to Cindy McGregor, the manager of Eaglestone Lodge, on behalf of "The Men's Club" of Kamsack. The contribution was for capital expenses associated with the upkeep and improvement of the Lodge.

The young stars of the future from Canora, Preeceville and Norquay rotated back and forth between skill development sessions and actual games.

Former chief of Keeseekoose First Nation, Theodore (Ted) Quewezance, is a residential school survivor and advocate for Reconciliation and faces historical sexual assault charges.

Strike co-captains Kim Merriam, a Canora Composite School teacher, and Ryan Lambert, a teacher at Kamsack Comprehensive Institute, said a major issue in the dispute is classroom complexity.
